Water Jet Cutting

We manufacture custom high-pressure water jet cutting machines with high-specification EtherCat drives and KMT ultra high-pressure intensifier pumps for precise and robust performance. Our machines feature advanced CNC software and a PC-based CNC controller for versatile cutting capabilities.

All our water jet cutting machines are made to order. We also produce specialised cutting systems using waterjet technology for specific industry uses, ranging from food production to the nuclear industry.

The TechServ CNC system is optimised for water jet cutting with an intuitive interface. It provides automatic corner slow down algorithms and wiggle pierce functions. It also offers pre-set cutting parameters and finish quality selection, making it ideal for high-precision cutting.

Made By Engineers, For Engineers

Our bespoke water jet cutters are configured to suit your needs. If you are cutting lighter materials, the machine and waterbed can be combined with the rails mounted to the side of the waterbed. For heavy-duty applications, the waterbed and rails are separated, with the rails securely mounted to the floor.

All our water jet cutting machines have a main chassis made from precision-extruded aluminium, with linear roller slides mounted on top and a drive rack at the rear. The assembly is covered to prevent abrasive ingress, and a secondary beam supports high-pressure cable chains, exposed to avoid water damage.
The machine legs are water jet cut aluminium with stainless steel covers and fasteners. Main drive motors are located within the legs beneath the water tank skirt for protection against damage. This design ensures a clean appearance with hidden mechanical components.

The Z-axis head has twin linear bearings driven by a belt, with covered slides and drive components to prevent damage. Automatic height sensing is optional.

If the water jet cutting machine is specified with twin heads, these are independently mounted on the beam, each with its own carriage. Both carriages have a drive motor and encoder and can be independently driven.

Three EtherCat AC brushless servo motors with precision planetary gearboxes and encoders drive the machine. The CNC controller synchronises the main drives to maintain squareness, with an automatic homing routine at power-on.

All running surfaces are sealed linear slides for accuracy, longevity, and low friction. Adjustable outboard slides prevent binding due to metal expansion.

The work support tank is fabricated from mild steel, with easily removable supports for cleaning. The machine features a steel fabricated bed with replaceable steel slats.

Key features:

  • Precision slides throughout
  • Precision drive rack in all axes
  • Digitally synchronised twin side drive
  • Fully covered running surfaces
  • Integrated control cabinet
  • Simple wiring/control layout
  • Easy maintenance
  • Simple user interface
  • No cutting experience necessary

Benefits of Water Jet Cutters

Water jet cutting offers a cost effective, efficient and flexible method of cutting most materials including metal, glass, stone and plastics using either pure water or additional abrasive. The process produces cuts with a narrow kerf and smooth edges with no material degradation over a wide range of thickness up to 150mm.
